What Makes Us Smile

When the path we walk upon diverges, I suppose it is the path that makes us smile that we must choose. Any path will truly bring us trials and barriers. It would seem only responsible then to choose that path to which we can join our love and our like. For then the barriers become only challenges and the trials hasten to our strength.

I don't suppose I have divulged the crazed and perhaps demented dreams I have for my life. I am cautious to share them for many would dismiss me as vain. There are those who have decided that their dreams are just that, dreams. Life has for them determined, even limited them to their demise. I will not be so limited.

I am truly convinced that reality is what we make of it, that people will ascribe to us only that which we ask of them. For what difference is there, truly, between one man and another except that which he has learned and portrayed. If he chooses to be a king then he must busy himself and learn to govern and to keep like company. I fear I have lost far too much time in many ways.

Come And Sit Beside Me

Come and sit beside me
For I have truths to tell
Of autumns and winters past and to bear.

How I found you undisturbed
Alongside the mundane memory of my peculiar paths.

How your eager eyes found me unexpected
Whispering to me of lives lived and lost.

How I have gazed into the deeper depths of you
And found only my peace and my rest.

Building Web Spiders

Excellent article (link below) demonstrating how to build a web spider using ruby.

Here's the article

A couple of great notes on this article:

* It uses Ruby to build the scripts ;)
* Web spiders are just cool
